Sunday, May 24, 2026: How Wild Child PlaySchool and

Repainting the Sanctuary ended up with a Wedding

A lot is happening at IACLC.  Wild Child PlaySchool is opening its new Detroit Campus in our church. They will be  in the space Sun Drop PlaySchool has vacated. In a new health department inspection of the building, loose paint was notice in the sanctuary. If not repaired the PlaySchool could not move in.  We decided now the time to get the sanctuary repainted. The hard working crew of painters, with very tall ladders,  has been painting all week.

The day after the sanctuary painting was finished, we had an unexpected wedding at IACLC. The wedding party had rented the church for their rehearsal dinner last Saturday. The wedding was scheduled for Sunday in the Indian Village Centennial Garden around the block from the church. However, it rained all day Saturday and a cold wind was blowing. They asked it the church was available on Sunday afternoon for a WEDDING and we said yes! After a scramble, the church was wedding ready on Sunday, May 23, 2026. It all worked out, to the relief of the mothers of the bride and groom the whole wedding party. and guests.

Iroquois Ave. Christ Lutheran Food Pantry Community Garden

Food Pantry clients  were provided with seeds and seedlings to start gardens  in their yards or in pots on their porches or window sills. Soon, they have fresh greens and, what money can not buy,  homegrown tomatoes.

The plants/seeds came from Keep Growing Detroit

a  wonderful organization with the mission of helping Detroit residents grown their own food.

Easter Sunday

April 6, 2026:

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

Christ Has Risen!

Christ Has Risen Indeed!

A truly joyous morning as we gathered together to celebrate the

Christmas Food Pantry

Friday, December 19, 2025

No one without a Christmas! In addition to the usual Food Pantry, the gym was set up with a FREE Christmas Store where clients could receive gifts of clothes, toys, games, toiletries, and a variety of household items.

The day before, a crew of volunteers set up the FREE Christmas Store, in the gym. Generous donations of gift-worthy items and cash helped fill the tables.

Everyone left with smiles, arms full of gifts ,and the true spirit of Christmas .
